How to structure your blog posts so they aren’t just a long screed of text.

Let's face it most people aren’t going to actually read reams of text. Especially when there is nothing to visually break it up. So use your font settings to make reading a bit more interesting. Using your H2 & H3, and paragraph settings, split up the copy so it’s more scannable.

People scan content so you need to design with that in mind.

So here’s how to do it …

I want this one a little bit darker. It's cold, but it's beautiful. Just a nice little mountain, a little friendly guy. Let's just have some fun today. The more that you practice, the more you're able to visualize things. Painters are expected to be different. Life's wonderful, isn't it? People are so excited when they see this happen. They think you're magic! Nothing to it!

THIS IS A QUOTE

You add the copy and quote source in the Content/Design window. You can also choose to have a background, as we have in this example, or to switch it off and you can also choose what colour it should be - in the Content/Design window.

Use bulleted lists to highlight your key points.

I just like to wash brushes. I think we'll just do a happy little picture today. Let's do a happy little mountain. Painting offers freedom. OK, let's have some fun! It doesn't matter in our world where it goes. Whatever works is good. Today, we have to make a big decision. Just sort of running through the woods here. You don't have to tell them you did this with a paper towel.

  • Gallery blocks are a great way to add images.

  • They help break up blocks of text.

  • They make your posts more interesting and scannable.

  • Gallery blocks can use any number of images

  • Make them short and even.

Here’s a H2 to make a point.

We'll make some big ol' huge mountains! Where do the clouds live in your world? All you're doing here is whisper-light. Be careful with this bright red -- it'll eat up your whole world in a heartbeat. It's very hard to see your painting when you're right up against it. However you want to change this, that's the way it should be. Don't be afraid of this big brush. The round brush is so fun, let's go back to that. Always start with a clean brush in a light area and work outward. You're gonna have one WILD day!

  1. Bulleted lists use numbers instead.

  2. Look how easy it is to scan.

  3. But, you can change back to bullets if you prefer.

  4. That’s a good way to put it!

Above gallery of images uses 4 blocks in a row - it’s a great way to break up your post and make the whole thing more interesting.

Isn't life wonderful? This is such a super day! You don't have to work at it hardly at all. Don't worry about it; have fun with it! You don't have to tell them you did this with a paper towel. You can do it! We'll make those decisions later. Anything that happens here, you can work with it. Fun time! Now we wash the ol' brush! We don't want to overload it, just a little bit.

A quick collection of H3’s.

Do you want to get crazy? Art is an expression of self. Don't want to destroy, just diffuse. We're not too worried about it today. A place you want to go and run through bare-footed. Let it continually go in circles, otherwise it'll look like it's raining up. Don't worry about it -- just sort of throw it in. Use that to your advantage.

Here’s another thing.

Wherever you think they should be, then that's exactly where they should be. Chickens need a place to live too.

MAYBE YOU FANCY ANOTHER QUOTE...

Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. That’s how we learn. In life, as in painting, it’s the little accidents that make things beautiful. If something doesn’t turn out just how you planned, don’t worry about it.

Conclusion

See? I knew you could do it! Nothing to it! Once again: circular patterns. There's too many complicated things in our life already. We'll just sort of see what happens. Just work it around and around and around. Just practice, and you really can do this. We'll just take the brush strokes out. Be sure it's odorless or you'll be working by yourself. At some point in between, you have to reach a happy medium.
